Silver Brazing Fluxes Oxiflux® series for Tungsten Carbides

Silver Brazing Flux Oxiflux Series is designed to be used in brazing tungsten carbides and in other hard-metal applications. In this range, JO FLUX has four products: Oxiflux Flux Powder, Oxiflux 600 Flux Paste, Oxiflux 630 Flux Paste, and Oxiflux 650 Flux Powder. The products have a specific active temperature range, allowing users to select the appropriate grade for that base metal and the working temperature of the filler alloy. The working temperature of the filler alloy and the melting span must correspond to the active range of the active flux.

Tungsten Carbide Brazing Flux Range

The Oxiflux® range gives users both powder and paste options for different brazing needs. The four products cover different temperature ranges and applications.

The range includes:

  • Oxiflux® Flux Powder

  • Oxiflux® 600 Flux Paste

  • Oxiflux® 630 Paste Flux

  • Oxiflux® 650 Powder Flux

This product range is focused on tungsten carbide brazing and related hard-metal applications. The choice of grade depends on the material being joined and the filler alloy used in the process.

Oxiflux® Flux Powder

Oxiflux® Flux Powder is a powder-form flux for tungsten carbide brazing. It is also listed for tungsten-carbide-backed PCD and certain cast iron applications.

Its main product details include:

  • 570–870°C active temperature range

  • Powder form

  • Suitable for tungsten carbide applications

  • Suitable for tungsten-carbide-backed PCD

  • Suitable for certain cast iron applications

The powder form provides an option for users who need a dry flux for their brazing process.

Oxiflux® 600 and 630 Flux Paste

Oxiflux® 600 and Oxiflux® 630 are paste-form products in the range. Both are made for applications involving tungsten carbide and other hard materials.

Different Temperature Ranges

Oxiflux® 600 has an active range of 550–850°C, while Oxiflux® 630 has a wider range of 565–925°C.

The two grades give users different options based on the working temperature of the filler alloy. Oxiflux® 630 is the highest-temperature product in the Oxiflux® range, with an upper active temperature of 925°C.

Both products are available as paste fluxes and can be selected according to the required brazing conditions.

Oxiflux® 650 Powder Flux

Oxiflux® 650 is a powder flux with an active temperature range of 550–850°C. It is designed for applications involving cemented tungsten carbide, carbide-backed PCD, and cutting tools.

Its product profile includes:

  • Powder form

  • 550–850°C active range

  • Cemented tungsten carbide applications

  • Carbide-backed PCD applications

  • Cutting tool applications

This makes Oxiflux® 650 a dedicated option within the range for users working with carbide and cutting-tool components.

Choosing the Right Oxiflux® Product

Selecting a Tungsten Carbide Brazing Flux depends on the base metal and filler alloy. JO FLUX® states that the working temperature and melting range of the filler alloy must match the active range of the flux. This makes temperature range an important part of product selection.

The Oxiflux® range provides four choices:

  • 570–870°C: Oxiflux® Flux Powder

  • 550–850°C: Oxiflux® 600

  • 565–925°C: Oxiflux® 630

  • 550–850°C: Oxiflux® 650

With powder and paste options, the Silver Brazing Flux Oxiflux Series gives users a focused range for tungsten carbide, PCD, hard-metal, and cutting-tool brazing applications.
